In case fans of Luis Manzano and Mariel Rodriguez missed their “Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang” duet at Wowowee last June 3, 2010. here is a video of it posted at YouTube. It is obviously a pre-recorded duet. But I think their fans and the Wowowee audience enjoyed it all along!

I am amused with the name of their “loveteam” – MAIS for MAriel-LuIS; LUMA for LUis-MAriel; and MALU for MAriel-LUis.

Ruffa Gutierrez Walked Out of The Buzz

Watch this YouTube video of The Buzz episode today March 7 where Ruffa Gutierrez was said to have walked out shortly after the show takes a commercial break. This is said to be among the last episode appearance of Ruffa in The Buzz before she leaves ABS-CBN and transfer to TV5.

Here is the YouTube video with Ruffa seen trying to control her tears after Kris Aquino said “Ruffa aminin mo ibang level ang saya dito.” You can play the video at 4:10.

This comment from Kris must have affected Ruffa with her leaving the show that you would see her trying to control her tears and while the shows goes on a commercial break, Ruffa stood up immediately and walked out of the set. Not sure if she still came back on air coz when the segment where Gretchen Barreto was interviewd by Kris and Boy Abunda, Ruffa was not there anymore which made me think at first that maybe Ruffa has indeed left the show for good. Hope Ruffa and Kris will work things out.

ABS-CBN’s Showtime Suspended by MTRCB Due to Rosanna Roces Controversial Comment Insulting Teachers

ABS-CBN’s Showtime was suspended by MTRCB due to Rosanna Roces controversial comment insulting teachers. Showtime was given a 20-day preventive suspension by MTRCB. Rosanna Roces was one of the judge and she made a comment saying “… teachers they were just repeaters.” Aside from that, she told the show’s contestantfrom calamba, Laguna “murahin mo yung teacher mo ha” (insult your teacher) coz she did that when her teacher was not able to answer her also.

Vice Ganda, another judge of the show, thanked his teachers and came to the defense of teachers and said that we should not generalize teachers for their imperfections as they are also human. Surely many Showtime fans will be sad to miss the show for 20 days and especially Vice Ganda’s text messages.

Here is the new Ginebra San Miguel TV commercial with World Boxing Champ Manny Pacquiao and Nanay Dionisia Pacquiao promoting Ginebra. Manny in the end part looks like a frightened son afraid of being scolded by as seemingly angry looking Nanay Dionisia who entered the scene where Manny was serving the gin to his friends around him at the table. In fairness, Aling Dionisia did well in her acting her part. See the said TV commercial from a video in YouTube if you have not seen it yet since it was said to started airing couple of weeks ago.

The band Journey with their new vocalist Filipino singer Arnel Pineda sang the song “Don’t Stop Believing” during the pre-game of Super Bowl 2009 in the Raymond James Stadium, Tamba Bay, Florida. The Super Bowl is the final game of the NFL Season where the AFC Champion Pittsburgh Steelers won the battle against NFC Champion Arizona Cardinals in Super Bowl 43. This is another performance the Filipinos should be proud of with millions of Americans and people around the world watching the Super Bowl. Ellen DeGeneres Invites Pinoy YouTube Singing Sensation Duo “Rin on the Rox”

Ellen DeGeneres, host of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” saw on the internet particularly in YouTube, Rin and Roxanne of “Rin on the Rox,” who have somehow become a YouTube sensation. Ellen invites these two Pinays to guest in her show.

Ellen in her show’s recent episode said “Recently, I found these two singers on the internet. These two girls are singing in the bathroom. So they are fantastic. If you are watching right now, please, please come on the show if you are watching. We have a wonderful bathroom here… But seriously, you are great. So please, please come on the show if you would like to.”

These two Filipinas, Rin or Erin Paula, 20, and Rox or Roxanne, 21, lives in California, USA and are best friends who loves to sing in duet in their bathroom. They have always dreamt of having a career in singing.

Well if you have not seen the YouTube videos of these two Filipinas, “Rin on the Rox”, here is one pick of their YouTube videos with their version of Rihanna’s Umbrella which is also a fave song of mine and KC Concepcion too! Enjoy and I hope they would indeed have a great singing career in the US and make us Filipinos more proud with our talents making it into the international music scene.

If you remember, Charice Pempengco also guested last year in The Ellen DeGeneres Show as she was also discovered in the internet / YouTube. That guesting helped Charice start her fame and popularity in international scene now.
