Philippine Azkals vs Nepal October 11, 2011 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium. Azkals scored two goals in the first half of the game.

First goal coming from Phil Younghusband at the 17th minute.

Then James Younghusband scored another goal around the 29th minute. An amazing goal passing through Nepal defenders.

UP Pep Squad to performed at the halftime of the #Azkals-Nepal friendly match.

Spotted in the audience were Jinkee Pacquiao and her twin sister probably with Dyan Castillejo. We also saw Christine Jacobs.

On the second half of the game, Phil Younghusband scored his second goal and the third goal for the Azkals on the 54th minute!

Nepal remains scoreless as of the 58th minute. Rob Gier comes in for Paul Mulders at the 65th minute.

Nepal is ranked 135th in the world, while the Philippines is placed 166th. As of the 70th minute, standing is at 3-0 in favor of the Azkals!

4th goal for Azkals came from Matthew Hartmann at the 88th minute, his first for the Azkals. Azkals won the game against Nepal at4-0. Keep up the good work Azkals!

May 8 National Day in Honor of Manny Pacquiao

May 8 is a national day of celebration in honor of boxing champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao. However this is NOT a holiday nor a non-working day.

Proclamation 1764 states said Pacquiao’s “spectacular victories show the world the best in the Filipino and that his determination and love of God and country exemplify the indomitable Filipino spirit … and inspires the Filipinos to have resiliency and dedication to triumph against all odds,” according to Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita.

“As a nation’s expression of gratitude for bringing worldwide acclaim for the country, it is befitting that a national day of celebration is held to honor him.”

May 8 will be highlighted by a motorcade, which is being prepared by Environment Secretary Jose Atienza Jr. Then Pacquiao and his entourage will have a lunch with President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

Limited Edition Manny Pacquiao Nike Air Trainer 1 Shoes

This limited edition Manny Pacquiao Nike Air Trainer 1 shoes with about 200 pairs sold and made available Saturday morning in the U.S. during Pacquiao’s fight day was said to have been sold within 10 minutes. Pacquiao got 100 pairs while the rest were sold in different distributors.

Pacquiao fans purchased the limited edition of the “Manny Pacquiao Air Trainer (Nike Trainer 1)” for $110. But online particularly in eBay, it was said to be sold for as much as $1,700/pair.There were actually two pairs of the so-called “MP shoes” with color variations of red and white which was made for the Pacquiao, one of Nike’s biggest endorsers, used one of these MP shoes during his fight against Ricky Hatton in Las Vegas last May 2.

Journey with Arnel Pineda at Super Bowl 2009 Sang Don’t Stop Believing

The band Journey with their new vocalist Filipino singer Arnel Pineda sang the song “Don’t Stop Believing” during the pre-game of Super Bowl 2009 in the Raymond James Stadium, Tamba Bay, Florida. The Super Bowl is the final game of the NFL Season where the AFC Champion Pittsburgh Steelers won the battle against NFC Champion Arizona Cardinals in Super Bowl 43. This is another performance the Filipinos should be proud of with millions of Americans and people around the world watching the Super Bowl. Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao made Filipinos proud once again as he marked his place among the boxing legends when he knocked out Mexican-American David Diaz during the ninth round of their Lethal Combination fight held at June 28, 2008 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center, Las Vegas. This win puts Pacquiao into the historic elite as he claimed a title in his 5th weight division.
