Last December 7 Sunday while Filipinos were closely watching and following The Dream Match of Pacquiao vs Dela Hoya, a sad news came out about the death of Marky Cielo (real name Mark Angelo Cadaweng Cielo). He died at the age of 20. Marky was found dead around 6AM on December 7, 2008 by his mother Mildred, who went to his room in their house in Antipolo City to wake him up for a charity event. When Marky did not wake up, his mother rushed him to the nearby Antipolo Doctor’s Hospital where the young actor was declared dead on arrival around 10AM. Initial report says that he died in his sleep due to acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis (or “bangogot”). There were even unconfirmed rumors saying that he might have committed suicide. But the real cause of his death is yet to be known until his medical records are released. All we can do now is pray for his peace and eternal rest. Prayers to the family of Marky Cielo.
Marky won as Starstuck’s Ultimate Male Survivor title, and the first Sole Survivor title of the Batch 3. He was the first Igorot ever to join that said contest. Among Marky’s prizes was a house and lot in Antipolo where he and his family lived.
