McDonalds Sued by the Shermans of Arkansas Over Nu-de Photos

A couple named Tina Sherman and husband Phillip Sherman from Arkansas sued McDonalds for $3 million after nude photos of wife Tina Sherman found its way into the internet after her husband Phillip left his cellphone in one of the McDonalds branches in Arkansas. The McDonalds staff assured the Shermans that they will keep the phone secure until Mr. Sherman gets it back but then the private photos were circulated over the internet in a website that has written her name, address and telephone number together with those nude photos of Tina Sherman who received offensive calls and text messages because of the pictures from her husband’s cellphone after he left it at the McDonald’s.

According to the lawsuit, Phillip forgot the cellphone in July and was assured the employees of McDonalds would keep it safe. However, the naked pictures of Tina ended up online, and the Shermans are blaming the workers at the McDonald’s restaurant. The Shermans are seeking damages for suffering, embarrassment and the cost of having to move to a new home.

The suit names McDonald’s Corp., Matthews Management Co. and a manager, Aaron Brummley. Employees of the restaurant had allegedly promised to secure the cell phone, turn it off and safeguard it until Phillip Sherman could retrieve it.

The suit seeks no less than $1 million for outrage; no less than $1 million for public disclosure of private facts; and, no less than $1 million for casting the Shermans in a false light. (source)
